The ONE WASHINGTON EQUALITY CAMPAIGN is a statewide movement for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in public education, jobs and government contracting for qualified women, veterans, persons with disabilities and people of color.

 

The ONE WASHINGTON EQUALITY CAMPAIGN is actively working for the passage of I-1000, an Initiative to the Legislature.

 

  • Initiative-1000 achieves the following goals and objectives:
  • Redefine Affirmative action to provide equal opportunity in Education, Employment and Contracting (Entrepreneurship) for the following groups:
  • Women
  • Veterans
  • Persons with Disabilities
  • People of Color
  • Eliminates quotas and preferential treatment from Affirmative Action
  • Expands Affirmative Action to include all Honorably discharged Veterans
  • Protects Washington’s colleges & universities from federal penalties should they utilize race as a factor in their student admissions programs
  • Expands the term, “sexual orientation” to all state anti-discrimination laws
  • Creates Washington State’s 1st Governors Commission on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
